BioEnhance Animation

Multidisciplinary engineering firm Engineering & Land Planning (E&LP) and remediation technology company BioEnhance have been remediating a former industrial site in New Jersey. LANDAU helped to create a series of animations that illuminate their work and how it has positively impacted the site.

Historic chemical spillage from loading and unloading barrels raised levels of toxic TCE and PCE in the soil. BioEnhance’s In Situ Bioreactors were installed in 2017 and have subsequently had a tremendous effect on improving the chemistry of the site through “bioaugmentation” or increasing the numbers of particular indigenous microbes.

By animating what is commonly disconnected and confusing information, our team was able to make the invisible visible.

Eric Raes, PE, LSRP, President of E&LP, and Kerry Sublette, Ph.D., Chief Scientist for BioEnhance, explain the innovative treatment technology that is proving to be highly successful at remediating toxic chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Design
We designed several visualizations to try to get to the best possible representation. We were able to do this iteratively, while also providing the client with usable communication materials along the way. All graphic design and animation were done in-house, which also made this iterative process more seamless.

Production
From the audio editing to the 3D motion graphics, LANDAU did it all. While not all animation projects are small enough for us to do this, we are proud of the work we did.
