The art of Motion Graphics is a stellar super-power. Designers in that craft are like space explorers and they open up a wide universe of possibilities to explore, both critically and creatively. They map the asteroid belt that sits between two nebulas of creativity: Design and Animation.

LANDAU Design+Technology's passion for visual storytelling has assisted many clients to tell their stories and explore new discoveries for their brand and projects. With the constant flow of technology and new apps, we think there is a greater reliability on visual communications and video-based media. With the rise of AI entering artistic production, there is no doubt there will be more need for creative and original art and design (not less), and clients will need the technical expertise to make the magic happen.

So, what is Motion Graphics?

Motion Graphics (mo-graph for short), is a kind of animation that combines principles in graphic design with movement to create engaging visuals. Using a combination of shapes, text, and images, it is often integrated with video production, website design, branding, social media, and more.

Depending on the scale, it can be a simple and effective addition to any project. Motion Graphics  add flair and enhance what is already there! And if it doesn’t exist yet… it is created.

Motion graphics is a unique blend of design and animation, offering the best of both worlds:

  • Design Principles: We apply the fundamentals of design, emphasizing understanding people and situations. This approach, rooted in psychology and problem-solving, allows us to create accessible and tasteful products that meet your audience's needs.

  • Animation Techniques: Drawing from film and animation practices, we craft stories that engage the soul. Our motion graphics can entertain, educate, call people to action, and inspire them to act.

Here are some examples of how it can be used for engaging communities and telling crafted, portable stories to targeted and broader audiences alike:

  • Explainer Videos: Short animations or videos that break down complex concepts or plans, often used for getting buy-in. We often work on projects that need engagement, a video with a call to action, or to give progress updates for communities and decision makers.

  • Infographics: Animated data visualizations that present statistics or information in an engaging way.

  • Social Media Content: Animated posts or stories designed to grab attention and convey messages quickly.

Motion Graphic Designers are the jack of many trades, and can fill in for various roles wherever needed. Depending on the scope of the project, we are able to play the traditional role as a general graphic designer or take on daring roles in video and animation production.

There is an expectation to take a critical design perspective, but also to be technically adept storytellers. We design mindfully, and…

We Design for Everyone

It doesn’t stop there. Everyone doesn’t need a video, and that’s where our graphic designer mode kicks into high gear. There are a lot of industries that desperately need a creative lead designer on their team but don’t have the budget to bring one on full time. So we tap into the power of collaboration to align ourselves with landscape architecture firms, small businesses, large organizations, artists, and government agencies. We are experts at understanding your needs and communicating them through:

  • Engaging community presentations

  • Compelling project pitches

  • Clear and impactful reports

  • Site plan visualizations

  • Compelling and shareable social media assets

But If you already have in-house designers and marketers, we can work together to achieve your organization's specific goals from a broader strategic point of view. Our team is equipped to support all these aspects, ensuring a compelling visual strategy.
